Continuing Care Home Type B (CCH Type B)
Personalized, Continuing Care to Help You Live Life to the Fullest
Continuing Care Home Type B (CCH Type B), formerly known as Designated Supportive Living Level 3, are accommodations designed to provide a purposeful home environment that fosters independence—while meeting your unique needs. Vermilion & District Housing Foundation offers 30 CCH Type B studio suites, and we have also acquired the temporary capacity of 10 additional CCH-Type B Secure Space suites (formerly DSL4) to further support the evolving needs of our residents.
These accommodations provide residents with access to a dining room, a common living area, gourmet, chef-prepared meals, meticulous housekeeping, a wide range of recreational and therapeutic programming, and 24-hour support from health care aides for personal care and medication assistance. Regular support is also provided by home care nurses. To learn if you’re eligible for our CCH Type B services, you must be assessed by an Alberta Health Services placement officer. For full details, please contact your health care professional, consult directly with your home care case manager, or reach out to our Clinical Director.

Dining Room
Our supportive living residents are pampered with gourmet meals that are prepared from scratch by our culinary team and Executive Chef. Our dining room seating arrangement is kept to a maximum of ten residents for an intimate dining experience, wheelchair manoeuvrability, and a direct sight line to a professional health care staff. All menus are tailored to the tastes of our residents and are approved by a registered dietitian to meet Canada’s nutritional guidelines. Residents also have unlimited access to snacks and beverages, 24 hours a day.
Recreational and Therapeutic Programming
Our recreational and therapeutic programs are designed and adapted to meet your needs. You can choose to participate in a wide variety of activities that are specifically tailored to your personal goals, interests, and hobbies. All programs run in-house six days a week to accommodate smaller groups and a more intimate therapeutic setting. Daily one-on-one visits are available for those who are unable or do not wish to attend group-based programming. Program calendars are delivered to each room and posted in common areas.
