Heritage Villa I
Dewberry is a hamlet within the County of Vermilion River in Central Alberta. The hamlet was named for the dewberries growing near the Community. The original hamlet of Dewberry was established in 1938 and was incorporated as a village in 1957. In 2021, the village was once again returned to its formal status as hamlet. Dewberry Heritage Villas joined the Vermilion & District Housing family on January 1, 2021.
The Alberta Provincial Government saw a need to build Self-Contained Seniors Apartments to support seniors with low income and in 1980 built Dewberry Heritage Villa I, which consists of 4 Plex Self-Contained Units. Each home has 1 bedroom , kitchen, dining room, living room, storage rooms, laundry room and green space in both front and back yards.
Heritage Villa II
The Dewberry Heritage Villa II was built as a Ranch Style 4 Plex. The 4 self-contained units were ready for occupancy in 1990. Each home has 1 bedroom, full kitchen, dining room, living room, storage rooms, in-Suite laundry room with washer/dryer and green space in both front yard and backyard.
